Extended Access

General Practices across Scarborough and Ryedale are now offering Extended Access to routine practice services, with appointments from 6.30pm to 8pm and at the weekend. Ask your reception team for details.

Whilst we will make every effort to provide you with an appointment with the clinician of your choice, we would ask that you, in turn, arrive on time for your appointment and advise us in good time if you are unable to attend, so that the time can be used for someone else.

If you are too ill to wait in the waiting room, or you think the illness may be infectious, tell the receptionist.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

A trained advisor will direct you to the most appropriate health service or treatment for your needs close to where you are. If they feel you need urgent health care, they can make you an appointment at one of the urgent care centres in Scarborough or Malton.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Urgent Care Centres

The urgent care centre in Scarborough is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To ensure you are seen as quickly possible, please book an appointment by calling 111.The urgent care centre in Malton is open from 9am to 8pm, 365 days a year for patients attending without a pre-booked appointment via 111. Outside these times, you can still call 111 to arrange for someone at the Centre to see you during the night.

Emergency Department

In a Medical Emergency you should call 999, for example if you are having difficulty breathing, suffering from chest pains or have had a serious accident. The nearest emergency departments are located at Scarborough hospital and York hospital.

Protected Time for Learning

The Practice is supported by North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership to provide and facilitate important training and learning events for practice staff to help them keep up to date with relevant information to carry out their job and continue to deliver the services at the practice.

When the surgery is closed, there will be an On-Call service running during these events and these dates will be displayed in the surgery premises, on the main entrance door, main reception areas and on the Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Group website.

Please remember to collect repeat prescriptions outside of these times and any test results will be available the following day after 2pm.

In cases of medically urgent problems, please phone the surgery and you will be given details on how to contact the On-Call GP Service.
